A Montana native, Ms. Allen brings international tax, accounting, finance knowledge to Allen Barron, Inc. and law expertise to Janathan L Allen, APC. Allen has worked with a diverse group of businesses, advising clients in legal, financial and tax arenas.
Beginning her career in the public accounting arena, she moved into the private sector as tax director for a biotech firm, Hybritech, Inc. She progressed to controller and CFO/Legal Counsel positions for a number of San Diego companies before becoming a partner in Allen Barron, Inc. and founding Janathan L Allen, APC.
She has led seminars throughout California on Tax-Advantaged Corporate Structures and Tax Minimization, and appeared as a panelist for Tech Coast Venture Network in a roundtable discussion for venture capital and angel financing.
Richard Barron, whose roots are in nuclear science, is dedicated to assisting companies achieve new directions of growth and profitability.
Barron's career began in his native England as a junior scientist for a UK government research department, studying the technical functionality of nuclear partical accelerators. After emigrating to Canada, he became a member of the Bell Northern Research team that developed and implemented advanced digital telephone switching systems, before becoming a partner in Allen Barron, Inc.
In 1979, he began his climb to the top of executive management starting as Director of Manufacturing Operations for Northern Telecom. His corporate career reached its apex during tenure as President/CEO of numerous technology companies including General DataComm, Telenex Corporation, Inc., Bourns Electronics, and Valor Electronics (a publicly held company with over $120 million in revenues).
Brandon Lang was born and raised in southeast Michigan. He graduated from the University of Michigan - Dearborn with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance. Following graduation, Brandon accepted a corporate finance position with a large automotive supplier in the Metro Detroit area. After several years in that job, Brandon decided to continue his education and attend law school. Upon his acceptance to the University of San Diego School of Law, Brandon relocated to San Diego.
Brandon currently assists with entity formation, contract drafting, corporate compliance, and estate planning.
In his spare time, Brandon enjoys spending time outdoors at the beaches of San Diego.
Prior to moving to San Diego in 1989, Hitomi Kawashima, CPA obtained a Degree in English Literature and worked for a large construction and real estate development company in Tokyo, Japan.
After moving to San Diego, she obtained her BS degree in accounting from San Diego State University. After graduation, she utilized her bilingual skills and her international background by working for a well-known Japanese corporation in its Maquiladora manufacturing division. She worked on complex accounting and finance issues and ensured compliance with NAFTA regulations.
Hitomi then obtained her CPA license and worked for an international CPA firm that served large numbers of Japanese clients and helped them with their international tax issues. Subsequently, she worked for Nasalla Mathis and Associates, CPA firm for 10 years, working in taxation, auditing, and accounting. She prepared and reviewed numerous LLC, partnership, corporation, and individual tax returns, while specializing in real estate tax, business tax and 1031 exchanges.
In her spare time, Hitomi enjoys spending time with her family and enjoying the outdoors here in San Diego.
Barbara located to California from Texas. She brings with her 30+ years of experience in financial accounting and complex income tax preparation. Her previous experience includes 17 years working for a CPA, 5 years running her own business and 13 years working in the field of banking. She currently handles all our corporate clients' accounting and tax returns as well as individual tax preparation.
Julie Greene was born and raised in the Philippines. She brings to Allen Barron, Inc. over 25 years of accounting experience in various industries such as hospitality, restaurants, manufacturing, facilities and service maintenance. From childhood, Julie had exposure to her family’s businesses in textiles, retail stores, farming, beauty shops, rental properties, and restaurants. Julie came to the United at the age of 20 after graduating from Southwestern University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting and Finance. She is currently studying to obtain her Masters Degree in Accounting.
Julie is also a Registered Tax Preparer and has several years of experience in tax return preparation for individuals, small businesses, S-corporations, Non-Profit organizations, and rental properties. She is also pro-active in a Non-Profit Organization and has been an auditor for several years for the organization she is involved in.
In her spare time, Julie likes to spend time with her husband and family in Riverside County.
Noni Clayton handles our internal and external business administration needs at Allen Barron, Inc. As our Administrative Director, her knowledge and expertise in office management and human resources is a valuable addition to our well-rounded team. Nonis background includes such diverse backgrounds as a paralegal, data analyst in the financial field, marketing assistant for a major petroleum company and a private investigator for one of the most notorious investigation firms in Hawaii. Noni enjoys spending time with her husband and son at their home in the San Pasqual Valley.
Ariel is the friendly voice you hear at the front desk of Allen Barron, Inc. She was born in La Jolla and raised in Carlsbad and currently resides in Vista, California. She attended Rancho Buena Vista High School where she was a Varsity cheerleader and gymnast, as well as a member of an All Star traveling competition cheer squad.
Ariel graduated from the University of Redlands in 2001, with a BA in Musical Theatre. Upon graduation, she moved to Los Angeles for five years where she had a career in the entertainment industry. In 2006, she moved back to San Diego to be closer to her family.
In addition to being the Administrative Assistant/Receptionist at Allen Barron, Ariel is a certified makeup artist, vocal coach and Notary Public. In her free time she likes to paddle board and enjoys having fun adventures with her family and 2 year old daughter, Sadie.
